PremUp's three perinatal centres

The PremUp foundation's pole of care combines three type III perinatal centres: the maternity hospitals and departments of neonatology of the hospital centre of Cochin-Port Royal, the Robert Debré hospital and the Intercommunal Hospital Centre of Créteil. With more than 8000 births per year and an organisational network of perinatal care (including 52 maternity hospitals representing 70 000 births per year), the PremUp network constitutes the most important perinatal facility in the Ile de France.

CHIC - Créteil

Robert Debré Hospital - Paris

Maternité de Port Royal Saint Paul

It constitutes a reference centre for extreme cases of prematurity and pathology in pregnant women such as pre-eclampsia, HIV infection, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, sickle cell anaemia, psychiatric conditions, and addiction.

The three perinatal centres also represent a benchmark in perinatal imaging, thanks on the one hand to the synergy of various departments of obstetric ultrasound and departments of paediatric radiology, and on the other to the existence of an approved multi-disciplinary centre of antenatal diagnosis in each of the maternity hospitals. They also combine the services of foetal pathologists of the three establishments.

This pole of care is an integral part of a hospital environment with the advantage of excellent medical and surgical intensive care units as well as departments of interventional radiology. It can thus provide for the management of serious maternal pathologies and complications of delivery. Collaboration with specialist departments (endocrinology, internal medicine, haematology, psychiatry, and adult surgery) provides multidisciplinary management of the patients' pregnancy. Emergency services provide 24 hour management of obstetrical and gynaecological emergencies as well as neonatal resuscitation, and paediatric surgery.

This pole of care includes 2000 nurses, 270 obstetric hospital beds and 146 neonatal hospital beds (including 45 in neonatal resuscitation), thus providing for the management of more than 8000 pregnant women and their babies. The pole of care is also involved in research in ethics, especially the management of pre-term babies of limited viability and the concept of risk in medicine.
