PremUp Research organisation

PremUp was created to provide support for innovative advanced research concerning both mother and child. Its multidisciplinary and broad-based approach (including prevention, care and long term monitoring of the child) is the real strength of the foundation. It makes it possible to rapidly put in place collaborative projects involving several units of research and care.

Almost 100 researchers from 15 academic research poles are improving our knowledge of:

  • The influence of the maternal environment on placental function, foetal growth and the future of the child
  • The physiopathology of premature delivery, and cerebral and pulmonary lesions in the premature child.
  • Research into predictive biomarkers and the development of new medical imaging tools.
  • Research into preventive treatment of premature delivery.
  • Pharmacological protection of the brain and lungs of the premature newborn.

PremUp relies on technological platforms and data bases:

  • a placental physiopole to facilitate research into biomarkers and develop perinatal pharmacology.
  • a platform of therapeutic trials on prematurity, "THERAPrem", for carrying out pharmacological studies on the passage of identified molecules from the preclinical stage to the clinical stage (studies of phase 1, 2, and 3 and obtaining AMM).
  • an experimental platform in perinatal imaging "PremIMAGE ".
  • existing data bases (EDEN) and new clinical and epidemiological data bases (Epipage) on prematurity in France.
