Take part in the Baby March!

The PremUp foundation is organising the 1st BABY MARCH: first walk-race that will take place on 16th October 2011 to finance Research into pregnancy and premature births.

La marche des bébésIt will bring together thousands of parents and families, accompanied by their babies and children who will all run or walk 4km around the Buttes Chaumont Park. All participants on the starting line will have previously raised at least 150€ in online donations among their friends for PremUp Foundation research projects, by using social networks (Facebook, Twitter...).

Gilbert montagnéGilbert Montagné has agreed to sponsor this 1st edition as a former premature baby himself. He had to stay in an incubator for 3 months after he was born where he received over-rich oxygen giving him a retinopathy: he was diagnosed as blind. "I am convinced that early screening really can save babies. The network research led by PremUp should bring about faster diagnosis of deficiencies and go one step further in caring for premature babies. This is why I am supporting the Baby March. Helping a child to a better birth means giving him all the chances of becoming a confident and well-adjusted adult."

Inès Sastre

Inés Sastre, sponsor of the Foundation, is backing the BABY MARCH. "Having myself experienced the painful ordeal of giving birth prematurely, the uncertainties and the fears that accompany the first weeks of a premature baby's life, I am eager to help the fight of the doctors, carers and researchers from the PremUp Foundation. Today I would like to share this experience by talking, helping and relieving, as far as I can, future mothers who have had or will one day have to face the birth of a premature baby."
